We live in a unique era of technology advancement where we can chat to online friends far away at the click of a button. Despite quick access to almost anything online, research shows that people are more isolated than ever. More often than not, people may be in the midst of others, but have no meaningful contact with them. Lack of meaningful interpersonal interactions may leave you feeling isolated, depressed and anxious. Some people may resort to unhealthy behaviours  as a means of self-soothing and making themselves feel better.

 

Psychotherapy is a therapeutic tool that lends itself to addressing various relationship-based problems that are products of our past and present. Most problems in most contexts whether at work, in the home or in the society at large can be traced back to relating to others. No matter how the world changes, one fact remains, we are social beings and as such we need to be able to relate effectively with ourselves and others in order to be functional.
